Brief Overview of Merryland Schools

Our Background

Merryland High Schools are private boarding mixed ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level secondary schools, established on a firm Christian foundation and exceptionally solid education excellence with the ambition to become the best senior secondary schools in Africa.

Both campuses offer sciences and arts subjects, admitting students from all backgrounds within and outside Uganda. The main campus, Kigungu, was founded in 2001, while Katabi campus was founded in 2012.

Kigungu campus sits on over 60 acres of land in Entebbe Municipality Division B, about 3km after Entebbe International Airport, at the shores of Lake Victoria. Katabi campus sits on over 15 acres in Entebbe Municipality Division A, 2km off Kampala–Entebbe highway along Wava Busambaga road.

Bursary

A bursary scheme is available to assist academically brilliant but financially disadvantaged students. The scheme applies to both ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level students.

Spirituality

We strongly believe that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and success. Both campuses welcome all religious denominations, and students participate in spiritually oriented activities such as Pathfinder, Good Samaritan, praise and worship, community services, and outreach activities.

If we want our children to take part in the competition of the 21st century, and take the lead, they should have qualities such as self-confidence, assertiveness, leadership and all other values we stand for.

As parents, our utmost responsibility is to provide an educational environment for our children for classwork and talent development. With well-developed interpersonal and social skills and a sense of ethics, our children will truly be equipped for the challenges they will face as the leaders of the future.
